A few important things people should know about Maison Margiela, one post at a time.

Maison Margiela is a fashion house globally renowned for its iconoclastic approach to design. In 2019, the maison reached out to creative agency Studio Blanco and asked them to find a way to tell its history to its employees.

Studio Blanco pitched the idea of creating a social media brand bible, featuring the weekly publication of relevant and inspiring content about the past, present and future of Margiela. They reached out to me to help them develop an editorial strategy.

Together, we conducted extensive research in the brand archives, as well as in digital and physical libraries all over the world, to collect stories, pictures, memorabilia, old campaigns, sketches and anecdotes. We then edited the best of what we found into around one hundred posts, divided into six chapters. 

The result is The MM Code, a private Instagram account that all Maison Margiela employees were invited to follow – a platform bringing together all staff, old and new, both in Paris and around the world.
