In these days I will be in Spain, giving a talk on videojournalism at the University of Seville's Master in Photojournalism. Having a hybrid portfolio that lies in between advertsing and journalism, I've decided that the best thing to do will be to try, together with the students, to define what is that lies at the edges of the documentary practice and how this no man's land was affected by the exponential growth of the Internet. In Autumn 2008, Alex Healey and me flew to the coast of Belgium and followed for five days two fishermen that are still fishing shrimps the way their ancestors used to fish: riding a horse. Alex filmed and edited what was happening, I did the interviews and sound. The Sea Horses documentary, produced by Fabrica, has been recently featured in the on-line version of the Guardian newspaper. Have a look at it.
